Maine Mural host Dylan C. sits down with State Rep. Seth Berry to discuss legislation that would have allowed Mainers to vote whether they want a statewide consumer-owned utility in Maine. The bill passed through both the Maine House and Senate, only to be vetoed by Governor Janet Mills. However, the fight isn’t over. Now a coalition is pushing to collect signatures in order to get it on the 2022 ballot. In this interview, Representative Berry details what a consumer-owned utility would look like and why we desperately need it.
